Grant Horvat's Equipment Philosophy

Grant Horvat has built one of the most influential platforms in golf content, with over 1.3 million YouTube subscribers tuning in to watch him compete against the best players in the world. A former college golfer at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Horvat brings legitimate playing ability to his content — which gives his equipment choices real credibility. His departure from Good Good Golf in late 2022 and subsequent rise as an independent creator has made him one of the most-watched voices in consumer golf.

TaylorMade: Woods and Ball

In January 2023, Horvat signed with TaylorMade as a Team TaylorMade ambassador — a deal that goes far beyond just playing their clubs. The partnership gives him access to TaylorMade's tour truck for professional fittings and, crucially, allows him to create content with the biggest names in golf. Through TaylorMade, Horvat has filmed with Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Tommy Fleetwood — collaborations that would be nearly impossible without a major equipment brand opening the door.

Horvat plays TaylorMade for his driver, fairway wood, and ball. His current setup features the TaylorMade Qi4D LS Driver at 9 degrees, a Qi35 fairway wood, and the TaylorMade TP5x ball. His wedges are Takomo SF 002s in 50°, 56°, and 60° — part of his Takomo ownership deal. When Horvat announced his Takomo ownership in early 2025, he was clear: "I am still a TaylorMade athlete, and will be playing the driver, woods, and ball."

Takomo: Owner, Not Just Ambassador

On January 3, 2025, Horvat announced something unusual in golf — he wasn't just signing a sponsorship deal with Takomo, he was becoming an equity owner in the direct-to-consumer iron brand. "Being an owner of a golf company has always been a dream of mine," Horvat said at the time. Wesley Bryan and George Bryan IV later joined as fellow partial owners.

The Takomo deal covers his irons and wedges. Horvat has bounced between the Takomo 301 CB (the more blade-like option) and the more forgiving 201 models. He has admitted he "always likes to try and play the bladier ones, and then eventually ends up going back to the more forgiving model" — a relatable trait for any mid-to-low handicapper. His current set is the Takomo 301 CB irons from 4-iron through pitching wedge.

L.A.B. Golf Putter: Inspired by Adam Scott

Horvat's most interesting equipment choice might be his putter. He switched to a L.A.B. Golf putter in early 2025 after playing with Adam Scott, who uses the same brand. "I tried his putter and really liked the way he made it look," Horvat explained. He debuted a L.A.B. Golf OZ.1 broomstick putter at the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass in March 2025 — and proceeded to win the event, draining a 15-foot birdie putt on the iconic island-green 17th hole in a playoff. He has since moved to the L.A.B. Golf DF3. Unlike his TaylorMade and Takomo deals, Horvat appears to play L.A.B. by choice rather than under contract.

Beyond the Bag: Business Ventures

Horvat's influence extends past club choices. In March 2024, he became a co-owner of Primo Golf Apparel — the first owner outside the original founders. The apparel brand also has a partnership with Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers LIV Golf team. Combined with his Takomo equity stake, Horvat has positioned himself as more than a content creator — he's building a portfolio of golf businesses.
