The Four Majors

About the Majors

The four major championships are golf's most prestigious events. The Masters is held every April at Augusta National. The PGA Championship runs in May, the U.S. Open in June, and The Open Championship — golf's oldest major, established 1860 — wraps the major season in July. Winning all four in a career is the “career grand slam,” achieved by just five players: Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.
