Jackson Ormond is an 18-year-old amateur from the Rochester, New York area (listed variously as Rochester and Webster, N.Y.). He is one of the leading juniors in the high school class of 2026, ranked inside the top 11 of the AJGA rankings, and signed a National Letter of Intent to play college golf at the University of Florida under head coach J.C. Deacon, joining the Gators in the fall.
Ormond earned his place in the 2026 U.S. Open field through the qualifying system. He first came through local qualifying as a medalist at The Links at Greystone, then advanced to 36-hole final qualifying on Golf's Longest Day at Gaston Country Club in North Carolina. There he opened with a 65 and closed with a 63 in the afternoon round, capped by an eagle on the par-5 seventh and a two-putt par on the last, to finish at 12-under 128 and share co-medalist honors with Carl Yuan.
