About Miles Russell

Miles Russell is an American amateur golfer, born November 1, 2008, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He emerged as one of the most accomplished junior players of his generation, winning the US Kids World Championship twice and capturing the Junior PGA Championship and Junior Players Championship in 2023. That year, at age 15, he became the youngest player ever named AJGA Boys Player of the Year, surpassing a record previously held by Tiger Woods, and he repeated as Player of the Year in 2025 while becoming the first two-time winner of the Junior Players Championship.

Russell has tested himself against professionals despite remaining an amateur. At the 2024 LECOM Suncoast Classic, he tied for 20th to become the youngest player to record a top-20 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour. In July 2025 he verbally committed to play college golf at Florida State University, with a high school graduation year of 2027.

Russell reached the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills (June 18-21) through final qualifying at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He led the field deep into the round before stumbling at the 17th, then advanced through a 3-for-2 sudden-death playoff. Adding to the storyline, Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods and a fellow Florida State commit, caddied for him during the qualifier.
