
Vijay Singh
Vijay Singh is a Fijian professional golfer and World Golf Hall of Fame member (inducted 2006). Born in Lautoka, Fiji, he learned golf from his father at the Nadi airport golf course. Singh turned pro in 1982 and joined the PGA Tour in 1993, winning Rookie of the Year. He has won 59 career tournaments including 34 PGA Tour victories - the most by any non-American player, ranking him 14th all-time. Singh captured three major championships: the 1998 and 2004 PGA Championships and the 2000 Masters. In 2004, he reached World No. 1, dethroning Tiger Woods, and held the position for 32 weeks while winning nine times that season. He won the FedEx Cup in 2008 and was money list champion three times (2003, 2004, 2008). Known for his legendary work ethic, Singh holds the record for most PGA Tour wins after turning 40, surpassing Sam Snead. With career earnings exceeding $71 million (second only to Tiger Woods at the time), he made a remarkable comeback to the PGA Tour in January 2026 at age 62, using his career money list exemption status to return nearly five years after his last start at the 2021 Honda Classic.
